During the procedure, a combination of microdermabrasion, glycolic acid and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) are used to increase collagen production in the face and neck.

What does the procedure involve?

At estética the first part of the procedure starts with a general cleansing and light exfoliation. This is to remove dead skin cells which in turn will help to deliver astringents deeper into the skin. The microdermabrasion will bring warmth to the skin by stimulating circulation.

30% Glycolic peel is applied and left on the skin for a few minutes before being neutralized. The tiny molecules in the alpha hydroxy acid cut through dirt and sebum and absorb into the deeper layers of the skin. This then creates further heat, giving a false sense of trauma to the skin, ready for new cells to be made.

The final part of the procedure uses IPL. A yellow light (commonly known as photo rejuvenation) is used to increase the collagen production in the skin while the skin is at temperature and cells are active.

The procedure concludes with a hydrating mask, drenched in hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid helps to retain water within the cells of the skin, making it the most hydrating acid you can use on the skin.

Collagen is the essential building block of skin cells. Along with fibroblasts, it acts as a scaffolding that keeps the skin firm and supple.
